Otoromiro Hotel
Otoromiro Hotel
The Otoromiro Hotel (previously Governors Bay Hotel) was founded in 1870 and is located towards the head of Lyttelton harbour, 20 minutes from central Christchurch or 10 minutes from Lyttelton Township. The hotel enjoys a fine reputation for its gastro-pub fare, a wine list encompassing many local vineyards and a great range of Monteith’s beers on tap.
Following the devastating Christchurch earthquakes of 2010 and 2011, the Hotel stood up remarkably well and is now fully restored to original colonial beauty. Fantastic views out to Quail Island and Lyttelton Harbour await you from the Garden Bar, restaurant, verandah and rooms of the Governors Bay Hotel.
Our six guest rooms currently offer clean, comfortable and contemporary accommodation with views that are world class. Prices start from $100.00 per couple inclusive continental breakfast. Please note that our rooms do not have ensuites, but do have their own coffee and tea facilities. Our balcony rooms offer unbeatable harbour views of the Bay and have queen size beds and basins.
There are great walks to be had along the shoreline, cycling trips, public gardens and many water based activities within minutes of the Hotel.
The hotel is only 20 minutes by car from Cathedral Square, Christchurch, via Dyers Pass Road or 30 minutes via the Lyttelton road tunnel.
The hotel is proudly independently owned and operated by Jeremy Dyer and Clare Neville-Dyer.
