Bomba on Lyttelton’s bustling London Street celebrates two of Italy’s greatest gifts to the culinary world… pizza and gelato. During opening hours there is a steady stream of customers who travel from all over Christchurch to get their hands on a slice or scoop of Bomba’s best.

Owner Ed Monteschio first opened Bomba in 2019. Growing up in Italy’s Veneto region, in a family where food was a central part of their daily lives, it’s no surprise he has made a career out of serving incredible eats.

Bomba a place where regulars become fast friends. If you’re dining in, the covered courtyard complete with fairy lights and blankets is giving cosy vibes in spades. Along with brightly covered tables and hanging plant life all around, the space is warm and inviting, so even if you’re visiting for the first time you’ll feel right at home.
